SLOW TOURISM

A Walk in the countryside

The “Genniauri” countryside is at the foot of the mountain between Sarroch and Villa S.Pietro (CA). A five km route to discover landscapes, agro-pastoral culture and a local legend.

Mediterranean scrub, fluvial flora, centuries-old olive trees, historic dry stone walls and rural churches along the ancient Via di S. Efisio within the historic village dedicated to San Giorgio or “Barraccas de Susu”.

Trekking

1) Gola de Is Cioffus

One of the most evocative natural habitats in southern Sardinia. A canyon with vertical walls up to 250 meters high and surrounded by uncontaminated nature. During the rainy periods, a stream feeds small lakes, that it is possible to wade through it.

2) Streambed trekking and Maurreddus Waterfalls (Is Liscinus de is Maurreddus)

An evocative site within the “Gutturu Mannu” park where water is present all year round. Small waterfalls gush from large smooth stones.

It is an “adventure” route designed for a mixed crossing on foot: walking – streambed trekking – inside the river bed ……. (one of the rivers on the route), then on a road section to the waterfalls.
